This cute goose was sitting on her eggs. The papa goose chased our truck away as we pulled into the parking lot. We could not at first figure out why he was chasing us until we got out of the car and saw mama on the nest. What a brave papa goose, chasing a Ford Expedition away!

We took a road trip up the east coast from Florida to Canada. We went right through Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The mountains are beautiful and the whole park is magical.

Blue Springs Park in Deland Florida

This park is near my parent house, it may be called blue springs but it is really green! Manatees hang out there in the winter. They are so sweet.

Ice storm

We had an Ice storm and everything was covered with ice. It causes a lot of accidents and tons of people slip and fall but it makes for amazing views and pictures. It was a winter wonderland. This is a tree behind DMU. I was walking my dog and happened to have my camera with me. I am glad I did not miss it. It was actually my first "snow-day"!

Des Moines Art Center Park

We frequent this park often, it is such a fun place to go. It is a couple of miles from our place and there is so much wild life around. This park also has nature trails and in the winter you can ice skate on this lake!

My husband and I had a picnic out in downtown and went sledding down a little hill there. These stairs lead to the river, which was frozen. So beautiful.
